It’s the perfect meal to satisfy those comfort food cravings without sacrificing your precious time.

What makes this recipe special?

  • Speedy Prep: Ready in under 30 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights.
  • Simple Ingredients: Uses pantry staples and readily available canned goods.
  • Family-Friendly: A guaranteed crowd-pleaser for all ages.
  • Comfort in a Bowl: The creamy texture and sweet corn flavor are incredibly satisfying.

Tips for the Best Corn Chowder:

  • Bacon is Key: Don’t skip the bacon! It adds a smoky depth of flavor that elevates the entire dish. Feel free to use your favorite type of bacon.
  • Simmer, Don’t Boil: Gently simmering the chowder allows the flavors to meld together beautifully. Avoid boiling, which can make the milk curdle.
  • Adjust the Thickness: If you prefer a thicker chowder, add a little more cornstarch slurry. For a thinner consistency, add a splash of milk or chicken broth.
  • Get Creative with Toppings: While bacon crumbles are classic, feel free to experiment with other toppings like shredded cheese, chopped chives, or a dollop of sour cream.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Can I use fresh corn instead of canned?
A: Absolutely! About 3 cups of fresh corn kernels will work perfectly. You may need to adjust the simmering time slightly.

Q: Can I make this chowder vegetarian?
A: Yes! Simply omit the bacon and use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. You might also consider adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika to mimic the smoky flavor of bacon.

Q: Can I freeze this chowder?
A: While it’s best enjoyed fresh, you can freeze leftovers for up to 2 months. Be aware that the texture may change slightly after freezing.

Q: What if I don’t have whole milk?
A: You can substitute with 2% milk or even half-and-half, but the chowder won’t be as creamy. Avoid using skim milk, as it may result in a watery consistency.

We hope you enjoy this easy and delicious Quick Corn Chowder recipe! It’s a guaranteed hit that will warm your heart and fill your belly.
