Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can I use a different type of cheese?
A: Absolutely! Gruyere, Monterey Jack, or even a blend of cheeses would work beautifully in this soup.
Q: Can I make this soup ahead of time?
A: Yes! The soup can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator. Reheat gently on the stovetop before serving.
Q: Is this soup gluten-free?
A: Yes, this recipe is naturally gluten-free. However, be sure to use gluten-free croutons if you choose to serve it with them.
Q: Can I make this soup vegan?
A: Yes! Substitute the milk with plant-based milk (like almond or soy milk) and use a vegan cheddar cheese alternative.
Q: How do I prevent the soup from becoming grainy?
A: Ensure the cauliflower is fully cooked and tender before pureeing. Also, avoid boiling the soup after adding the cheese, as this can cause it to separate and become grainy. Pureeing in batches helps ensure a smooth consistency.
