What makes this Cheeseburger Soup so special?

  • Bursting with Flavor: We use a combination of classic burger toppings – onions, celery, and a touch of parsley – to create a depth of flavor that will have you coming back for more.
  • Easy to Customize: Feel free to add your favorite burger toppings! Bacon, pickles, or even a dollop of sour cream would be fantastic additions.
  • Quick & Convenient: Ready in under an hour, this soup is perfect for busy weeknights.

Tips for the Perfect Soup:

  • Don’t skip the roux! This is what gives the soup its signature creamy texture. Be patient and whisk constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Use good quality cheddar cheese. The flavor of the cheese really shines through, so choose a variety you enjoy.
  • Simmer, don’t boil! Once the cheese is added, reduce the heat to low and avoid boiling, as this can cause the cheese to separate.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Can I use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef? Absolutely! You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Can I make this soup ahead of time? Yes, you can make this soup a day or two in advance. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat gently on the stovetop.
  • Can I freeze this soup? While you can freeze it, the texture may change slightly. It’s best enjoyed fresh.
  • What toppings would you recommend? Crispy bacon, chopped pickles, a dollop of sour cream, or a sprinkle of chopped chives would all be delicious!
