What makes this Lasagna Soup so special?
- Quick & Easy: Ready in under 30 minutes, from prep to serving.
- Family-Friendly: A guaranteed crowd-pleaser for all ages.
- Flavor-Packed: A delicious blend of Italian and American flavors.
- Comfort Food at its Finest: Warm, hearty, and incredibly satisfying.
Tips for the Best Lasagna Soup:
- Sausage Selection: We recommend using Italian sausage (sweet or hot, depending on your preference) for the most authentic flavor. You can also use ground beef or turkey as a substitute.
- Pasta Perfection: Lasagna noodles work beautifully, but any short pasta shape (penne, rotini, or farfalle) will do in a pinch. Be mindful of cooking time – you want the pasta al dente.
- Cheese, Please! Don’t skimp on the cheese! The ricotta, parmesan, and mozzarella create a wonderfully creamy and flavorful soup. Feel free to add a sprinkle of extra parmesan on top for good measure.
- Fresh Basil is Key: The chopped basil adds a bright, fresh flavor that really elevates the soup. If you don’t have fresh basil, you can use 1 teaspoon of dried basil, but fresh is always best.
Can I make this soup ahead of time?
Yes! Lasagna Soup actually tastes even better the next day. Just store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You may need to add a little extra broth when reheating, as the pasta will absorb some of the liquid.
Variations to Try:
- Vegetarian Lasagna Soup: Substitute the sausage with plant-based crumbles or add extra vegetables like spinach, zucchini, or mushrooms.
- Spicy Lasagna Soup: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce for a little heat.
- Creamy Lasagna Soup: Stir in a dollop of heavy cream or sour cream at the end for an extra creamy texture.
So, ditch the hours of layering and baking and embrace the simplicity of Lasagna Soup! It’s the perfect way to enjoy all the flavors you love in a fraction of the time.
