Craving Comfort? Make Our Panera Copycat Broccoli Cheddar Soup!

Is there anything more comforting than a warm bowl of creamy broccoli cheddar soup on a chilly day? We think not! If you’re a fan of Panera Bread’s iconic soup, you’re in for a treat. We’ve cracked the code and created a copycat recipe that’s just as delicious, but you can make it right in your own kitchen! This recipe delivers all the cheesy, comforting goodness you crave, without the trip to the bakery-cafe.

This isn’t just any broccoli cheddar soup; it’s a carefully crafted blend of fresh vegetables, rich cream, and, of course, plenty of sharp cheddar cheese. We use a gluten-free all-purpose flour to help thicken the soup, making it accessible for those with dietary restrictions. It’s perfect for lunch, dinner, or a cozy snack. Plus, it’s surprisingly easy to make!

What makes this recipe special?

  • Authentic Flavor: We’ve meticulously tested and tweaked this recipe to capture the true taste of Panera’s beloved soup.
  • Fresh Ingredients: Using fresh vegetables makes all the difference in flavor and texture.
  • Gluten-Free Option: The use of gluten-free flour makes this recipe inclusive for those with gluten sensitivities.
  • Easy to Customize: Feel free to adjust the amount of cheese or red pepper flakes to suit your preferences.

Tips for the Perfect Soup:

  • Don’t skip the sautéing step! This helps to develop the flavors of the vegetables.
  • Add the broth slowly: This prevents lumps from forming.
  • Use freshly shredded cheddar cheese: Pre-shredded cheese often contains cellulose, which can affect the texture of the soup.
  • Low and slow is key: Cooking the soup on low heat allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Can I use a different type of flour?
A: While we recommend gluten-free all-purpose flour, you can use regular all-purpose flour if you don’t have dietary restrictions.

Q: Can I make this soup ahead of time?
A: Yes! The soup can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator. Reheat gently on the stovetop.

Q: Can I freeze this soup?

Q: Can I add other vegetables?
