Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can I use dried basil instead of fresh?
A: While fresh basil is highly recommended for the best flavor, you can substitute 1 tablespoon of dried basil for the 1/2 cup of fresh. Keep in mind the flavor will be less vibrant.
Q: Can I make this soup vegan?
A: Absolutely! Simply substitute the butter with olive oil or a vegan butter alternative and ensure your chicken broth is replaced with vegetable broth.
Q: Can I freeze this soup?
A: Yes, this soup freezes beautifully! Allow it to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. It can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Q: What kind of tomatoes are best for this soup?
A: We recommend using high-quality diced tomatoes. Fire-roasted diced tomatoes add a lovely smoky flavor.
Q: Can I add other vegetables to this soup?
A: Certainly! Feel free to add other vegetables like celery, carrots, or zucchini for added nutrients and flavor.
