What makes this soup so special?
- Real Potatoes: We start with real russet potatoes for that authentic baked potato flavor and creamy texture.
- Creamy Dreamy: The combination of milk and heavy cream creates a luxuriously smooth and velvety soup.
- Fully Loaded: Cheddar cheese, sour cream, and bacon – the classic loaded baked potato toppings – take this soup to the next level.
- Easy to Make: This recipe is simple enough for a weeknight meal but impressive enough for company.
Tips for the Perfect Soup:
- Potato Choice: Russet potatoes are best for a fluffy texture, but Yukon Gold potatoes can also be used for a slightly creamier soup.
- Don’t Overboil: Be careful not to overboil the potatoes, as they can become waterlogged. They should be tender but still hold their shape.
- Cheese it Up: Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese! Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or even a touch of parmesan would be delicious.
- Bacon Bliss: Use high-quality bacon for the best flavor. Cook it until crispy and crumble it over the soup just before serving.
