Instructions
Boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash.
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add milk and heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
Stir in mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Cook until cheese is melted and soup is heated through.
Serve hot, topped with sour cream and bacon.
