This Creamy Sausage Potato Soup is exactly that – a hearty, flavorful, and incredibly easy-to-make dish that the whole family will love. We’ve taken the classic combination of sausage and potatoes and elevated it with a creamy broth and a blend of comforting spices. The best part? It’s made conveniently in your Instant Pot! This allows the flavors to meld beautifully over a slow cook, resulting in a soup that tastes like it’s been simmering all day.
What makes this soup special?
- Simple Ingredients: You likely already have many of these pantry staples on hand.
- Instant Pot Convenience: Set it and forget it! The Instant Pot does all the work.
- Hearty and Filling: This soup is substantial enough to be a complete meal.
- Flavorful & Comforting: The perfect blend of savory sausage, tender potatoes, and warm spices.
Tips for the Best Creamy Sausage Potato Soup:
- Sausage Selection: We recommend using a mild or Italian sausage for a balanced flavor. Feel free to experiment with spicy sausage if you like a little heat!
- Potato Choice: Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes work well in this soup. Yukon Golds will give a creamier texture.
- Slow Cooking is Key: The 4-hour slow cook time allows the flavors to fully develop and the potatoes to become wonderfully tender.
- Garnish it Up: A sprinkle of fresh parsley, a dollop of sour cream, or a sprinkle of shredded cheese adds a lovely finishing touch.
