Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can I use different ground meat?
A: Absolutely! Ground chicken or even Italian sausage would be delicious in this soup.
Q: Can I make this soup vegetarian?
A: Yes! Simply omit the ground meat and add a can of beans (like kidney or black beans) for protein.
Q: Can I use pre-cooked rice?
A: While you can, uncooked rice works best as it absorbs the flavors and thickens the soup. If using pre-cooked, add it during the last minute of cooking.
Q: Can I freeze this soup?
A: Yes! Allow the soup to cool completely, then store it in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Q: What if I don’t have an Instant Pot?
A: You can make this soup in a large pot on the stovetop. Brown the meat, sauté the vegetables, and simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the rice is tender.
