- Simple, Real Ingredients: We keep the ingredient list clean and focused on whole, unprocessed foods.
- Naturally Flavorful: The combination of aromatic vegetables, herbs, and a touch of lemon juice creates a depth of flavor that will have everyone asking for seconds.
- Paleo-Friendly: This recipe is naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, and grain-free, making it perfect for those following a Paleo lifestyle.
Tips for the Best Paleo Chicken Soup:
- Don’t skip the simmer: Allowing the chicken to simmer for a full 60 minutes (or even longer!) is key to developing a rich, flavorful broth.
- Fresh Herbs: While dried herbs work well, using fresh thyme and rosemary will elevate the flavor even further.
- Customize Your Veggies: Feel free to add other Paleo-approved vegetables like parsnips, turnips, or mushrooms.
- Make it Spicy: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of your favorite hot sauce for a little heat.
Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Can I make this soup in a slow cooker?
A: Yes! Place the chicken, water, onions, carrots, celery, bay leaves, thyme, rosemary, pepper, and salt in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Shred the chicken and proceed with the recipe as directed.
Q: Can I freeze this soup?
A: Absolutely! Allow the soup to cool completely before transferring it to airtight containers. It can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Q: Is this soup good for you?
A: Yes! It’s packed with nutrients from the chicken and vegetables, and the broth is incredibly hydrating. It’s a great way to support your immune system and overall health.
