Creamy Ham and Potato Soup

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala Optional

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add diced potatoes and chicken broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Stir in diced ham, heavy cream, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. If desired, add garam masala for extra flavor.
  • Simmer for another 5-10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
