Place chicken breast in crock pot.
Add diced tomatoes, black beans, diced onion, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and chicken broth to the crock pot.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Shred the chicken with two forks.
Stir the shredded chicken back into the soup.
Let soup cook for another 20 minutes.
Serve hot with optional toppings like sour cream, shredded cheese, salsa and tortilla chips.
