Ingredients
  

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 6 cups vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 whole bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar optional
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice optional

Instructions
 

  • Bring vegetable stock to a boil in a large pot.
  • Add cabbage, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and bay leaves.
  • If desired, add apple cider vinegar and lemon juice.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
  • Remove bay leaves before serving.
