Easy Black Eyed Peas

Ingredients
  

  • 2 bags Frozen Black Eyed Peas
  • 1 large Vidalia Onion Chopped
  • 1 thick slice Petit Jean Peppered Ham Cubed
  • 8-10 cups Water or Broth
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • several grinds Black Pepper Freshly ground

Instructions
 

  • Sauté chopped onion in 1 tablespoon of oil in a heavy pan.
  • Add cubed peppered ham to the onions.
  • Dump in the frozen black eyed peas.
  • Add 8-10 cups of water or broth.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
